Oil on linen 12x18 SOLD
I’m offering for auction my recent 2008 group of 8 paintings representing my two favorite cities: New York and Miami.
I'm pleased how the paintings turned out. I painted late evenings or very early mornings devoted of people and traffic to evoke the feeling of serenity and tranquility.
Star book
I made this book for Jared's Mom. Jared helped me by writing out memories he had growing up and then we printed them out on little slips of paper and added them to small removable "cards" in this book. The cover and imagery in the book was inspired by a song she used to sing to him and how she always calls her home her "nest" and her kids her "chick's". Red is also her favorite color and it seemed perfect for the "heart" of this book. It's probably impossible to see here but there are images of stamped hearts with wings on those pages too. The stamp is from Alpha Stamps "Set of heart icons".
I hate that so much detail in art is lost when you photograph it. I feel like everything looks soooo much better in person than it does here. *sigh*

New Gallery!
In conjunction with Vicki Prentice Associates Inc, I have opened a new Gallery on MelanieStimmell.com featuring limited edition giclee prints for sale to private collectors and coporate clients. The Fine Art Prints in editions of 100 will be signed and numbered. The first print available is my award winning street painting The Mountain MIsts"
"The Mountain Mists', a more vibrant interpretation of a painting by Herbert Draper, was painted on the brick pavers in the town square of Geldern, Germany for the International Street Painting Competition. I had the idea of creating something with subtle, graceful movement over the rigid pattern of the ground beneath so as the bodies sway to and fro in the cool mist of the mountain breeze the pavers simply fade away. 'The Mountain Mists' won the 1st place Meisterklassen, the festivals highest honor, and awarded me the title of Maestro."
