Another installment in my ongoing blogposts about teaching painting! lol! Here's a couple of the nudes from last week that have been painted over opaquely. I have a feeling that the accurate repainting of a transparent ebuache is akin to what Degas meant when he said, "Ah! The transparent impasto of the Old Master's!" When I was younger I always thought he was talking about some special kind of painting medium, but now I feel he's actually talking about a process, a way of arriving at color.
