Miami 2011: Finók for Havaianas

About the Artist:
Finók began as a graffiti artist in 2002 on the street of São Paulo. His influences came from the city’s different typographies and from his the neighborhood where he grew up. His work has a strong cartoon influence and is marked by lime-green letters with a dark-blue contour, always with a face in the letter “o”. In his collaboration with Havaianas, he developed defragmentation of his attributed styles – human faces, cartoons, fish, and typographies. The background, with geometric shapes, represented the city with its architecture, while the one level above featured drawings, like the graffiti that interferes in the city. The result was an interpretive work, allowing individuals to view it in his/her own way.
