On April 12th 2012, Rush Arts Gallery in Chelsea held a photo exhibition commemorating the Beastie Boys induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The exhibition featured photography by Sunny Bak and Talib Haqq showing the Beastie Boys early years, the history of Rush Artist Management and Def Jam. Cey Adams, creator of the Def Jam logo had new artwork on display as well. Before the opening reception began, a slide show and panel discussion between Bill Adler, Cey Adams and Dan Chamas was held discussing the Def Jam book and the early years of the Beastie Boys. There was a tense moment where Bill Adler made a statement comparing races and appreciation for documenting history. Several opposed views and opinions came out followed by legendary Jazzy Jay making an appearance telling his side of the story of how Def Jam was supposed to be his label. Overall it was a another legendary event, notable mentions in attendance were John Joseph of the Cro-Mags, DJ Eclipse, Lee Quinones, Doc TC5, Fargo, and Greg Lamarche.
